Pigeon Pilates is on a mission to help people feel their best in mind, body, and spirit and find JOY in exercise.

Private sessions are individually tailored to ensure clients achieve their fitness goals with care and precision and have FUN while doing it! Sessions will leave you feeling lengthened, strengthened, and empowered.

About Me

Pigeon Pilates is owned and operated by Christa Pigeon. Christa received her full Pilates certification through Club Pilates in Tucson, Arizona in 2023.

Mat Pilates started as a pandemic hobby for Christa in 2020. She quickly fell in love with the gentle yet effective movement and knew she wanted to teach Pilates to share her love of the method with others.

When she’s not teaching or practicing Pilates, you can find Christa hiking, biking, climbing, running and spending time with her husband, daughter, and pup!

Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. His method was originally created to rehabilitate injured soldiers when he was held at an internment camp at the beginning of World War I. He immigrated to the States in 1926 and opened a fitness studio in New York City. Pilates has since grown in popularity and is used for all ages and fitness levels to lengthen, strengthen, and rehabilitate.

Pilates focuses on building strength through slow, controlled movements. It is low impact, focuses on mind-body connection, and recruits the core (ie “powerhouse”) of the body by placing an emphasis on breath. A dedicated Pilates practice will leave you with greater strength, flexibility, balance, and posture. Your Pilates practice will continue to grow in the weeks, months, and years to come as you strengthen your mind-body connection. Many find it peaceful, restorative, and meditative.
